From November 20 to December 14, 2008, the Vancouver & District Labour Council (VDLC) led a solidarity tour to the Philippines. They met with, and engaged with communities and organizers from different regions in the country -- getting first-hand knowledge of the Filipino people's experience with globalization and their struggle for genuine human rights.

Speakers include: Bill Saunders - VDLC President, Carol Nordby of CUPE Local 289, and Laarni delos Reyes of the B.C. Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines

The sharing will be followed by the B.C. Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines' Annual General Meeting where interested individuals can become members of the organization and look towards helping to build genuine people-to-people solidarity between Canadians and the  Filipino people.
